I’m sure you all know that there are a lot of things to see when visiting New York. What about if you only have the weekend or a couple of days? It’s going to be pretty hard but not impossible.
You should, first of all, pick the hotel you are going to stay in. Our recommendation is to find a hotel in an area you know you will want to visit some other things too. For example, if you want to visit museums, historical architecture or some great art galleries you should consider the Upper East Side.
Maybe you are just not into museums and art galleries and that’s ok too. How does a weekend of shopping sound? If I got your attention you should keep reading. Soho has all of the amazing and trendiest shops just waiting for you to visit them. Now I know I said we are moving on from the museums but if you are in the area you will not want to miss the New Museum of Contemporary Art.
If you want a different kind of shopping you should try Fifth Avenue. Located in the center of Manhattan, this will give you an amazing experience, unlike any other you had before. It doesn’t matter if you are searching for the latest fashion trends or souvenirs, the outlets on Fifth Avenue will come in your assistance with everything you need.
Now that we have seen the museums and all the important shopping area there are two things you will not want to miss.
The Statue of Liberty guards the entrance to New York Harbor, on Liberty Island. The statue is a symbol of democracy and one of New York’s important landmarks since 1886. This is definitely a must see while visiting New York.
Times Square, one of the tourist favorites while visiting New York; it’s visited by over 26 million people each year. You can attend the Broadway shows, dine in some of New Yorks best restaurants or just experience the glowing lights and energy of this famous area.
The goal is to stick to one or two areas, depending on what you want to do. Try to enjoy the sights of the area and when you get home its best if you mark the region and the things you’ve seen and start planning you’re next trip. Keep in mind, one weekend is not enough to see all that New York has to offer so don’t even try. You’ll miss out and will not enjoy what you do have time to visit.
