The new London Bridge

The New London Bridge was opened to the public in 1831 and total costs for the construction are the equivalent of almost 200 million pounds. According to statistics in 1896 the busiest point of London was this bridge. 8000 pedestrians and 900 vehicles crossed every hour. Did you know that London Bridge is sinking an inch every eight years and by 1924 the east side had sunk almost four inches lower than the west side?
