What do you expect when booking a place to stay? What’s your idea of an excellent accommodation? Well, I am going to tell you about my idea and in the end we will most probably find out that we have things in common.
For a demonstration I will make a review for the most recent hotel I’ve stayed in, Fairmont hotel in Monaco, Monte Carlo.
When I go on holiday I usually prefer small boutique hotels or even villas, but this time I chose a pretty big hotel, which I considered from the beginning it would match my requirements.
First of all, the arrival was not happening on a usual time for check in (because of reasons you already know about). Late check in transformed into a “very early” one, at 3 am. The person welcoming us at the front desk made us feel really confortable from the beginning and also made an upgrade to our room. So, having this promising beginning we started the morning with breakfast in the room and that was a pampering moment. Nice terrace, nice view, delicious breakfast= a perfect way of starting the day.
I only needed one day in that hotel to realize that whoever is in charge, really is taking his or hers job really seriously. I don’t remember how many employees we met in the lobby every time we were passing by, and they were always polite and you could see they were working hard. They are very well organized and acting like professionals. Staying at Fairmont is a nice experience; they can really make you feel that you earned that holiday.
Everybody I was in touch with at this hotel reacted very nicely to all requests and needs. So starting with the concierge guys and ending with those nice ladies that were cleaning our room every morning, they do deserve our appreciation.
We had a birthday event while staying at Fairmont and I think I don’t have to tell you more about what they thought of doing in order to make us feel the celebration.
Another reason why you should choose Fairmont when being in Monte Carlo is that perfect location. In my opinion, this is the best-located hotel in town. View is fantastic: you have the sea and can also admire this famous formula one curve and part of the town and all you want is only walking distance.
Another reason is all the facilities you have: a nice SPA, hair dressing salon, restaurants, a beautiful pool on the roof and even a small casino in case you want to have some fun.
Tip: Seagulls are really friendly, they like good food and I have to admit they are a bit daring, so you should never leave your glasses and plates on the terrace. You might have surprises.
