Austria is lucky and when I say this I quote a very good friend of mine. We were skiing in the Alps, on a “Gletscher” and he said this phrase while looking at the beautiful majestic mountains. When I first saw the Austrian Alps they impressed me, they were like ready to tell me their story. Talking about first times, it was in the summer when I first skied on a glacier.
The story can be funny! We were on the slope, five persons because the fog was so intense that it was almost impossible to see something. Suddenly I had the impression that I got high speed and I tried to find a support point but nothing was there because of the fog and I panicked and the only handy solution was to throw myself down. That was the moment of the truth! I was actually standing still, absolutely no move, not to mention speed. The fog gave me that feeling that I was moving very fast. Than I understood the very small number of people on the slopes, but it happened only in the first day and the rest of the summer skiing holiday was just perfect. We enjoyed many sunny days, the early waking up, breakfast and then tanning and ski.
The place where I wrote this story was Kaprun, Salzburg Austria and the name of the Glacier is Kitzteinhorn. It is a much bigger skiregion and also very well known, the Zell am See district. With this short story my travel studio has just begun the winter sports season. This one will be followed by another very nice stories about Austria and winter holidays in Vienna, which I hope you’ll enjoy and last but not least we’ll make you visit the places you will find here.Enjoy the winter evenings with a coup of tee and a nice story, here on My Travel Studio!
