The magic of Christmas
MyTravelStudio has entered the magic of Christmas like millions of people on this Planet. We love and enjoy the most wonderful time of the year, when humanity is celebrating the birth of child Jesus. The beauty is that more and more people also from non-Christian countries or with a Christian minority are celebrating and have adopted many of the aspects of Christmas. There is something magical about this holiday that nobody can deny. In many countries, the flavor of Christmas starts at the beginning of December or even earlier, middle of November.
First of all, this beautiful holiday is about celebrating the birth of Jesus. Many of you already know that the birth took place in a stable and the Nativity scene is often recreated in different works of art or even movies. They say that shepherds from the fields of Bethlehem knew about the birth, because an angel told them and they were the first to see the child. The Star of Bethlehem guided them through the stable.
Mostly common, Christmas is celebrated on the 25th of December but also on the 6th of January in some countries. They say that one of the first Christian liturgical feasts of the birth of Jesus took place in the early Roman time, but the Eastern Christianity also celebrated it on the 6th of January.
The spirit of Christmas is about family, goodwill and compassion. Some of you may remember this wonderful novel written by Charles Dickens, “A Christmas Carol”, which is, I think, more than 150 years old. I even think that the phrase “Marry Christmas” comes from the tale.
Of course there are some certain customs related to this winter holiday, which are the same in all cultures around the Globe. There are Christmas carols, liturgical feasts, gift giving or the Christmas tree. I just found myself smiling only when thinking about all of this. Christmas is about feelings and emotions. All the children are waiting for Santa Claus, Christkind, Saint Nicholas or Father Christmas. When it is about gifts giving or receiving, the feeling is the same for us, adults too.
We will not talk too much about the economic impact of Christmas and winter holidays around the world but we will mention it at least. Everybody is going crazy and do their best to make it a nice holiday for their beloved ones. Reservations for ski resorts or other destinations are made many months in advance, now you can hardly find a place to go. But money are not being spent only if you are going somewhere on vacation, you will also empty your pockets if you stay home. You will find on MyTravelStudio ideas on how to organize a Christmas holiday, or where to spend the winter vacation. You will also read tips about Christmas dinner and traditional cuisine, gifts and other stuff related to this subject.
