Great destinations for the Christmas holiday
Christmas is right around the corner and I bet you are looking for great destinations where you can spend your winter holidays. If so, pack your bags and gather all your loved ones, we have some great tips for you.
On the extreme northern location, at the foot of the Arctic Circle, Napapiiri is considered Europe’s Christmas capital. And well-deserved we might say, the region has two major Christmas themed parks.
The Santa Claus Village is a popular amusement park where you can take your family and children. It draws tourist from all over the world every year.
The other Christmas themed park Napapiiri has to offer is Santa Park, which is a great place for children and has impressive ice sculptures and quaint shops.
Aspen is another great place to spend the Christmas holidays, Colorado’s most famous mountain town and ski resort. The town will have its Christmas clothes on starting from late November. You should expect popular holiday music and Christmas events. The shopping streets are also prepared for the holiday season with Christmas displays all around. You will love it, the rustic Colorado vibe will make it a memorable holiday for you and your family.
Rome, Italy is a great place to be on Christmas but, compared to the other destinations, this is a more religious place. It makes sense though, considering that Vatican is the leader of Catholicism. If you are looking for a place where religion, faith and traditions take a central role, Rome is the perfect place to spend the Christmas holiday.
New York City at Christmas time is a pretty spectacular sight. Huge Christmas trees, stores window displays and a lot more attractions popping around the city will make this an unforgettable vacation.
A must: visit Rockefeller Center Plaza and see the famous Christmas tree. It has been around since 1931 and has 30.000 Christmas lights. This is worth fighting the crowds, trust me.
Given that we are currently in New York, please trust us, this city is a magical place to be in December.
Last, but not least, Vienna, Austria. You will not find another place with such a powerful Christmas spirit.
As soon as you walk on the streets the incredible smells will knock you out. Oranges, cinnamon, pumpkin, sugar cookies, pine from the Christmas trees, and many more will make you fall in love with this city. You can visit the many Christmas markets or go the one of the 300 balls thrown during this season.
We will be spending the winter holiday in Vienna so we will have the opportunity to show you exactly how Vienna looks like on Christmas, make sure you check out our next posts.
