City guide to Prague
I will always remember Prague, the historical capital of Bohemia (Czech Republic) revealing to you like a storybook. The city has a really old and interesting history, during thousands of years of existence it grew from a settlement to an important capital of the world.
I will give you the best reasons to visit Prague!
First of all there is something about this city; it has this special and distinct air. Like our contemporaneous Sezin Koehler said “Prague isn’t just a city but an entity of some kind’. In translation I would say it takes you about 5 minutes and you fall for Prague. We’ve spent 3 days in Prague and I can assure you it’s enough only when you think it was a teaser and it definitely has to come more. For spending the nights, hotel Constans was our choice, because of the great location (under Prague Castle) in a tranquil part of lesser Town (Mala Strana). Service, including the rooms are of good quality. You’ll spend every day in Prague wondering the streets and this hotel was a very good choice exactly because of that. Our tour of Prague begun every morning after a nice breakfast and the first thing we decided to do was to see that famous astronomical clock from medieval times. They say the oldest part, the mechanical clock and the astronomical dial dates back to 1410.
I am not having a hard time remembering Prague even if it was some years ago when I first saw it. The second reason to visit the city is this other famous thing. I am talking about the bridge over Vltava River, linking two parts of the old city. The name is Charles Bridge and I tell you it is not just any bridge. I guess this is the reason why Hollywood directors chose to use it in several movies.
Castle of Prague and all of the other historical buildings are worth visiting. It isn’t going to be just a simple history lesson but a really nice and relaxing walk through time.
I hope you didn’t even think I’m going to miss this very important fact about Prague. These people have a really good beer! I am absolutely positive that most of the time spent just siting on a terrace and having beer, while visiting a city, was happening in Prague. The old city, in my opinion, was specially built for this reason. Just siting on a nice terrace and watching tourists passing by, while having of course the beer in your hands. Here you go, another reason to visit Prague!
One of the most romantic dinners in my life was happening in Prague. In fact Prague was a birthday gift for my other half. And on that day we had dinner at the Kampa Park restaurant, on this incredible beautiful terrace on the riverside. Not only the food was great, elegant and first class, but also the service and the view. While enjoying dinner you have this view over Charles Bridge and you can watch all those small and beautiful ducks swimming in Vltava River. What I know now about the restaurant, I didn’t know then. It seems that the place is among celebrities (Bruce Willis for example) favorite when it comes to Prague.
